Black & Decker is a well-known manufacturer of power tools and accessories with operations worldwide. In addition to its power tools, the company also manufactures home improvement products and technology-based fastening systems. The company operates in over 100 countries.
Nolan Archibald, Black & Decker's Mormon Chairman, President and CEO, is a graduate of Weber State University (1968) and of Harvard Business School (1970). He worked for both Conroy, Inc. and Beatrice Companies, where he rose to become president of its Consumer and Commercial Products group and senior vice president of the corporation. In 1985 he moved to Black & Decker as president and chief operating officer. In a year he was made CEO and later chairman of the board.
